Everyone loves Ralphie!
At 8 weeks he walked into the house, promptly dumped his little water bowl over, and laid down in it. He has owned us ever since.
In June of 2005, Ralphie had a bone replaced in his right hind leg-repairing the torn ligament which served as his knee with a metal hinge now attached to his other leg bone.
His recovery was swift. He's like a one-year old again-strutting his stuff-defending against rogue coyote scouts and blossom-munching deer.
Ralphie's day is incomplete without an adoring crowd forming around him in some social setting. He is rarely disappointed. People (even those with tiny children) dodge traffic, risking injury, to get within a foot of him-all the while firing questions and oohing and aahing.
One should give considerable thought to the needs of a Giant breed dog to determine if it is a right choice for their family. Not everyone is equipped to handle them. But I have never regretted one moment of this wonderful gift- my friend- Ralphie.
